re: NewsScope - "i so enjoy reading your columns....you are so insightful and astute. keep up the good work."
re: corporations - Well, looks like coporations as people will be with us for quite a while. I was kinda hopin' that the broad, legal (over)reach by corporations via the Supremes might have instigated a political backlash that would curb corporate power, but not in the near future, obviously. Thank you once again for fulfilling on a topic I've been curious about!
re: Gingrich - Are you doing to do an analysis of Newt Gingerich’s chart? He is certainly adding a lot of fire to the Republican primary process.
re: Gingrich - Fox commentator on Newt - arguing he's make a good leader because he talked women into being with him even though he's obviously a jerk. (and to top it, both the first and second wives had gotten a diagnosis of a possibly terminal disease just before he bugs out their marriages):
I want to be coldly analytical, not moralize, here. I want to tell you what Mr. Gingrich’s behavior could mean for the country, not for the future of his current marriage. So, here’s what one interested in making America stronger can reasonably conclude—psychologically—from Mr. Gingrich’s behavior during his three marriages.
re: Iraq - I was hoping that you would post the chart for the US out of Iraq. From what I could tell it was December 15, 2011 13:00 Bagdad local time. Neptune is at 28 Aquarius 30. Compare to the other big disaster on the US Moon with the BP Oil Spill where Neptune was at 28 Aquarius 50 according to the chart in your archives. I think this
makes a very convincing case for the true position of the US natal moon...at 28 Aquarius and some minutes between 30 and 50 and could be
used to backtime the true Ascendant of the US chart. I always enjoy reading your columns and wish you the best for the next year...no matter what it brings.
A. Currently, as the troops withdraw, transiting Saturn is exactly square the US Pluto, the ruler of the Scorpio Rising chart. Neptune at 28 AQ is perfectly trioctile (sesquisquare) the U.S. Sun. This action - withdrawing from Iraq - was instigated by Obama, ie, American leadership, which is symbolized by the U.S. Sun, not Moon. The invasion began on Mar 19, 2003 when the progressed US Sun was at 28 AQ, so Neptune passing over this point is a significant ending to this Iraq cycle.
When Bush invaded in 2003, transiting Jupiter was in imperial Leo and exactly square the US Scorpio Ascendant from the 9th house of foreign affairs. Transiting Saturn was cnj the US Mars, the co-ruler of the Scorpio Ascendant.
The Moon symbolizes the people, consumers, voters, not leadership. Candidates with close connections to the US Moon at 25 AQ do the best. This is all chronicled and detailed in many articles at my website. What led to Newt's surge, if not his several close connections to the US Moon? He has zero planets or angles at 28 AQ, but his Gemini Sun, Chiron in Leo, and Fortuna in Libra are all in 25 degrees of their respective signs. How do you figure he's a leading GOP candidate if the U.S. Moon is at 28 AQ?

Gingrich’s 12th House Mars
How is it that the pugnacious Newt Gingrich, who has lived and worked in Washington DC since 1979, can claim to be an outsider? While many pundits* quickly pointed out the absurdity of Gingrich’s claims, he’s been able to connect with working Americans as an anti-elitist candidate. As their respective horoscopes indicate, his ability to appear to be an outsider is far better than Romney’s.
I have not seen any candidate with tighter and more numerous connections to the U.S. chart than Newt Gingrich (June 17, 1943; 3:03 am; Harrisburg, PA). His Ascendant at 8º Taurus is exactly aligned with the U.S. Ascendant at 8º Scorpio (orb: 0º12’). Since transiting Pluto is now at 8º Capricorn, it forms a favorable bridge between these two Ascendants, empowering him in the national campaign.
His ability to strike a populist tone comes from his Sun at 25º Gemini which harmoniously trines the U.S. Moon at 25º Aquarius (orb: 0º15’). Juno near his Midheaven is located at 27º Capricorn, which conjoins the U.S. Pluto, the ruler of the U.S. chart (orb: 0º20’). Juno here reflects his professional partnership with America’s most powerful corporations, as well as the pivotal role his wives have played in his career.
Gingrich’s Mars in Aries opposes the U.S. Saturn (orb: 0º31’), which astrologically legitimizes his claim of opposing the Washington establishment. Gingrich’s Mars conjoins his Pallas, the political asteroid, and these two reside in his 12th house - a combination that excels at backroom deals and political sabotage. Gingrich’s 12th house Mars is like a bomb-thrower, but conjunct Pallas, he favors throwing political bombshells. He’s at his best when undermining others.
Three U.S. presidents have Mars in the 12th house: Millard Fillmore, Andrew Johnson, and Chester Arthur. It’s an historical oddity that none of these were actually elected to office. In 1850, Fillmore succeeded Zachary Taylor who died only four months after assuming office. In 1865, Johnson became president after Lincoln was shot, and Arthur took over when President Garfield was assassinated in 1881.
The bottom line: no candidate with Mars in the 12th house has ever been elected president of the United States, and in my opinion, Gingrich won’t be the first.
Top Five Astro-Events for February
1. Neptune enters Pisces on the 3rd, where it remains until March 2025. Neptune here accentuates the mystical, and fosters a quest for extraordinary metaphysical experiences or anything that takes one beyond the ordinary. Neptune in Pisces may mark the final chapter of the oil and gas industry, the waning influence of the Age of Pisces and a major transitional phase for organized religions.
2. Pluto sextiles the U.S. Scorpio Ascendant on the 7th, empowering the financial and political elite to shape the American image. Although Europe’s dire economic condition remains a disruptive factor, Pluto’s current position strengthens corporate America and stabilizes the national economy. Pluto forms a quincunx to the U.S. Uranus on the 19th, around which time we can expect a major political shake-up.
3. Pallas conjoins Neptune on the 13th when extraordinary dreams, revelations, or insights become possible. This highly visual influence is strongest from the 9th through 14th, and unfolds at the same time that Jupiter favorably sextiles Chiron. Turn inward to find answers to the most pressing issues, or consult an astrologer, psychic, or other alternative health practitioner to get clear answers.
4. The Pisces New Moon on the 21st conjoins Neptune, Pallas and Chiron, marking an exceptional ending and new beginning for many. The involvement of Pallas, the political asteroid, suggests a firming up of the GOP race, with the also-rans dropping out. Look for Big Oil, the SuperPACs, Iran, and a large pharmaceutical company to be in the news.
5. Juno and Chiron square each other, exact on the 28th, but in effect for the entire month. “Wounded in relationship” is the basic message when these two challenge each other. Watch for some stunning celebrity break-ups due to infidelity and/or problematic addictions. Those most affected by this pairing have prominent placements in the early degrees of the mutable signs, especially Sagittarius and Pisces.
The Journey of OR-7
The gray wolf known as OR-7 reached celebrity status when he became the first wolf to cross the Oregon Cascades since 1947. OR-7 has meandered restlessly westward in search of a mate after deciding that the prospects were poor in his native northeastern Oregon. State officials shot OR-7 with a tranquilizing gun on February 25, 2011 (noon; Joseph, OR) and fitted him with a GPS tracking device.
This event chart can be used to track OR-7 and his interactions with civilization. The Pisces Sun conjoins Mars, suggesting a predator without borders, and with the sextile to Pluto, a powerful one with keen survival instincts. The Sun also conjoins Mercury, the planet of information. OR-7’s collar emits a signal every six hours, which wildlife officials use to monitor his progress. Naturally, the Moon is in the sign of the wanderer, Sagittarius.
OR-7 began his trek on September 10, 2011 during the Full Moon in Pisces. At this time he left his familiar surroundings in search of a mate to create his own pack. Transiting Saturn in the relationship sign of Libra had just returned to the same degree as when he was collared. The love planets Venus and Mars were exactly sextile each other while closely aligned with natal Venus, so it’s clear what was on his agenda.
On December 28, OR-7 entered California as transiting Jupiter was turning direct and favorably trine his North Node. Also at this time, a transiting Sun-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn marked the important border crossing. An Oregon conservation group named him “Journey” on January 4, as transiting Vesta was conjunct his Sun, and the transiting Sun was conjunct his Vesta. Vesta is associated with what we are devoted to or find sacred, and Journey’s path for many has indeed become special.
