As we gather together in solidarity to express a feeling of mass injustice, we must not lose sight of what brought us together. We write so that all people who feel wronged by the corporate forces of the world can know that we are your allies.
As one people, united, we acknowledge the reality: that the future of the human race requires the cooperation of its members; that our system must protect our rights, and upon corruption of that system, it is up to the individuals to protect their own rights, and those of their neighbors; that a democratic government derives its just power from the people, but corporations do not seek consent to extract wealth from the people and the Earth; and that no true democracy is attainable when the process is determined by economic power. We come to you at a time when corporations, which place profit over people, self-interest over justice, and oppression over equality, run our governments. We have peaceably assembled here, as is our right, to let these facts be known.
They have taken our houses through an illegal foreclosure process, despite not having the original mortgage.
They have taken bailouts from taxpayers with impunity, and continue to give Executives exorbitant bonuses.
They have perpetuated inequality and discrimination in the workplace based on age, the color of one’s skin, sex, gender identity and sexual orientation.
They have poisoned the food supply through negligence, and undermined the farming system through monopolization.
They have profited off of the torture, confinement, and cruel treatment of countless nonhuman animals, and actively hide these practices.
They have continuously sought to strip employees of the right to negotiate for better pay and safer working conditions.
They have held students hostage with tens of thousands of dollars of debt on education, which is itself a human right.
They have consistently outsourced labor and used that outsourcing as leverage to cut workers’ healthcare and pay.
They have influenced the courts to achieve the same rights as people, with none of the culpability or responsibility.
They have spent millions of dollars on legal teams that look for ways to get them out of contracts in regards to health insurance.
They have sold our privacy as a commodity.
They have used the military and police force to prevent freedom of the press.
They have deliberately declined to recall faulty products endangering lives in pursuit of profit.
They determine economic policy, despite the catastrophic failures their policies have produced and continue to produce.
They have donated large sums of money to politicians supposed to be regulating them.
They continue to block alternate forms of energy to keep us dependent on oil.
They continue to block generic forms of medicine that could save people’s lives in order to protect investments that have already turned a substantive profit.
They have purposely covered up oil spills, accidents, faulty bookkeeping, and inactive ingredients in pursuit of profit.
They purposefully keep people misinformed and fearful through their control of the media.
They have accepted private contracts to murder prisoners even when presented with serious doubts about their guilt.
They have perpetuated colonialism at home and abroad. They have participated in the torture and murder of innocent civilians overseas.
They continue to create weapons of mass destruction in order to receive government contracts. *
To the people of the world, we, the New York City General Assembly occupying Wall Street in Liberty Square, urge you to assert your power.
Exercise your right to peaceably assemble; occupy public space; create a process to address the problems we face, and generate solutions accessible to everyone.
To all communities that take action and form groups in the spirit of direct democracy, we offer support, documentation, and all of the resources at our disposal.

Amanda Knox’s Karmic Path
A reader wants to know about Amanda Knox, since her murder conviction was stunningly overturned last week. “Please tell me that she is going to have a good life and eventually recover from the malicious and evil attacks made on her by so many people.” The case* has so fascinated the tabloids and mainstream press that it’s worth special astrological consideration.
This triwheel segment shows the connections between transiting Uranus, her progressed Ascendant, natal Venus, and natal Mars. Also note that Mercury at 8º Cancer is perfectly in line with the 2012 Uranus-Pluto square.
Amanda Knox’s horoscope (July 9, 1987; 2:47 am; Seattle, WA) features the Sun, Mercury, and Venus in Cancer, reflecting her strong attachment to home and family. In contrast, the Moon in wandering Sagittarius is made more adventurous by its conjunction with Uranus, giving her an interest in living in Italy as a foreign exchange student. Mercury, the ruler of her chart, is conjunct Venus, which focuses her mind on love and romance.
A casual look at her Mercury-Venus doesn’t reveal any traumatic aspects that might suggest being falsely accused of murder. To the contrary, this planetary pair is tremendously enhanced by trines to Pluto and Juno, giving her a highly amorous side, poetic instincts, and a charismatic aura. The opposition to Neptune can be seen as troublesome, but more in the sense of being dreamy and perhaps interested in recreational drugs. Factoring in the Lunar Nodes helps make sense of this chart.
Venus both squares and rules the South Node in the 5th house, where it symbolizes a lifelong karmic challenge of overcoming old patterns concerning her creative and romantic interests. Mercury and Neptune also square the Lunar Nodes, adding intrigue, muddled thinking, and false accusations. Most importantly, Pluto at 7º Scorpio forms a quincunx to the fateful North Node, and with the square to Mars, the potential for unimaginable catastrophe, often as the initiator or victim of violent circumstances.

The Murder of Meredith Kercher
Did Amanda Knox participate in the murder of Meredith Kercher? The Mars-Pluto square connected to her Lunar Node axis suggests the experience of violence, but her chart is more set up as a pleasure-seeker than as a fierce criminal. The heavy emphasis on Venus indicates that her Mars-Pluto energy was being expressed in an active sex life.
Steven Forrest* refers to Pluto’s challenging aspect to the Lunar Nodes as describing someone who actually committed rape or murder in a previous lifetime. Then, this may lead to the urge for redemption and self-punishment in this lifetime. The karmic nature of this extraordinary crime took place as transiting Saturn was just entering Amanda’s 5th house of recreational sex, where it formed a close quincunx to her North Node.
She had met Raffaelle Sollecito a week earlier when this aspect was exact. Natally, Saturn resides in her 7th house of partners and rules her 9th house of foreigners. Although Amanda’s diaries confirm an unrestrained sex life, Rafaelle was different because of this heavy Saturn influence and the connection to the Lunar Nodes.
The closest transit at the time of her roommate’s murder (November 1, 2007) was transiting Pluto trine her 12th house Jupiter (orb 0º03’). Jupiter rules her 7th house of partners, and she was enjoying herself by hanging out all night at Raffaelle’s apartment. The closest challenging aspect was transiting Neptune trioctile (135º) her Venus, the ruler of her karmic past.
Over the next four years – corresponding exactly to the time she spent in prison - transiting Saturn would pass through her 5th house. Saturn is often associated with feelings of guilt and settling karmic debts. Its passage here deprived her of her pursuit of pleasure. On October 3, 2011, she was acquitted and released. Saturn had just exited her 5th house, and was bringing a new chapter to her life.
Amanda Knox: What’s Next
Pluto’s prominent placement in Amanda’s chart tells us that she would have some unusually traumatic experiences in her life. Pluto closely aspects the angles in her chart, so that it shapes her interactions and experiences with the outer world. More importantly, since her Pluto is conjunct the U.S. Scorpio Ascendant, her trials in Italy would fascinate the nation.
She was released on October 3 as her progressed Moon conjoined her natal Pluto. Simultaneously, transiting Jupiter aligned with this whole complex, putting her and her compelling drama in the national spotlight. Over the next month, her progressed Moon makes the exact conjunction with the U.S. Ascendant while trine her Mercury, the ruler of her chart. People want to know her side of the story, and the activation of her communication planet will get the deed done.
However, Pluto is still causing her some problems. By transit, Pluto is opposing her Venus, which is manifesting as intense media hype about her as a celebrity victim of Italian justice. The paparazzi followed her home and are camped outside, ready to pounce with cameras and pushy interviewers. This invasive spying is going to intensify over the next few months as Pluto heads into an opposition with her Mercury.
Transiting Uranus is currently exactly squaring her progressed Ascendant in the 2nd house of money, which is bringing some immediate and spectacular financial windfalls. Transiting Uranus is also entering into a trine with her 3rd house Mars, linking the financial rewards with her writing. In two years, her progressed Ascendant will conjoin her 2nd house Venus, promising a steady accumulation of wealth as she tells her story.
