World Government - Do you interpret the upcoming cardinal squares through 2015 indicative of a continuing worldwide financial collapse that would usher in a call for world government? Of course world government could not happen overnight but a financial collapse appears to be around the corner.
A. That's a pretty drastic conclusion about the UR-PL square, but it may not be far off. Perhaps the first step toward more centralized world government is getting the various financial agendas synchronized, but before that could happen, major crises would unfold to push leaders to change the system
U.S. Military - As you may know, the congressional Super Committee has a deadline of December to come up with some kind of recommendation for national savings. Barring this, if they're deadlocked, then a "trigger" is pulled for which cuts will automatically be made in safety net programs but also in the military. Given this, do you see the American military in some sort of state of transformation in the next decade not only abroad but here in America as well?
Good stories - Why don't you write a book about aspects/transits, etc that were thought to be negative, but something revolutionarily good came out of it?
The U.S. Moon - I love to read your column because you do such superb work and the 8º Scorpio chart works beautifully for your predictions. But I've been watching the 28º Aqu point as the US Moon for several years now and I'm convinced this is the degree. A few pieces of data just off the top of my head: Space Shuttle Crash when Uranus transit 28º Aqu. Last big national blackout when Jupiter in Leo opposed at 27º and some degrees Leo. Oil rig disaster when Neptune transit 28º Aqu last time.
A. Yes, 28º AQ does seem like a critical point. Did you know that 28ºAQ12' is exactly trioctile (sesquiquadrate) the U.S. Sun at 13ºCN12'?

Romney and Perry: the Pluto Connection
Fundamental transformation of the political scene relies on the outer planets to overcome Saturn, the natural ruler of the status quo. Pluto in particular empowers the individual to carry out the will of the masses, if the people do indeed seek meaningful change. How do the two leading GOP candidates stack up when comparing their Pluto factors?
Historically, transiting Pluto has been a major factor in the winning candidate’s election. A few examples… Eisenhower won in November 1952 when transiting Pluto was trine his progressed Sun (orb 0º04’). JFK won in 1960 when transiting Pluto was square his natal Sun (orb 0º02’). Reagan won in 1980 when transiting Pluto was conjunct his Midheaven, while both Bush presidents won while transiting Pluto was trine natal Pluto.
Transiting Pluto will be sextile Mitt Romney’s Mars and square his Neptune during the campaign season – not great Pluto factors. However, connections to the U.S. Pluto are also common, and this is where
Romney has an advantage. Currently, his progressed Ascendant and progressed Mars are squaring each other while aligning with the U.S. Pluto. On Election Day – November 6, 2012 -- his progressed Mars is about ½ degree from squaring the U.S. Pluto.
Transiting Pluto will be forming an exact square to Rick Perry’s Mars during the first primaries this coming February. He will be experiencing transiting Pluto squaring his North Node on Election Day with an ominously tight orb of only 0º04’. Astrologers often describe this aspect as a disaster. But whether that means Perry as the GOP nominee experiences an election disaster, or that he wins and then leads the nation into disaster is an open question. Parenthetically, transiting Pluto trines Obama’s Pluto, the ruler of his Midheaven, on Election Day.
November Crisis
A reader asks that I respond to Bill Meridian’s comments in the November 2011 issue of Dell Horoscope since we write for the same publication. Meridian notes that President Obama will be experiencing his progressed Full Moon* in early November, and that transiting Uranus activates this. He speculates that Obama is at a political peak, and that he should expect trouble from women, perhaps Hillary Clinton.
Historically, the progressed Full Moon in a presidential candidate’s horoscope has not signified the end of his potential to get elected or re-elected. Truman, Kennedy, LBJ, Nixon, Carter, Reagan, and the first Bush were all elected well after their progressed Full Moon. However, the exactness of transiting Uranus aligning with Obama’s progressed Full Moon in early November does indicate that a serious crisis is brewing.
Because the national horoscope is also undergoing two major Uranus astro-events, the inevitable conclusion is that the problem is not Obama’s personally, but one that affects the entire nation. First, transiting Uranus squaring the U.S. Venus points to a fiscal problem. Then, the U.S. progressed Sun and progressed Uranus will be exactly square each other on December 7, 2011, but a major influence during the months leading up to that hit. This one indicates a crisis of leadership.
Leila Lopes, Miss Universe 2012
Last Monday, Miss Angola Leila Lopes was crowned Miss Universe after dazzling judges with her beauty and impressing them with her intelligence. Within days, allegations arose that she had falsified documents last year to participate in (and win) an Angolan beauty contest held in the U.K., which would disqualify her. Presumably, Donald Trump, owner of the Miss Universe Organization, will make the final judgment.

Leila Lopes was born with her Pisces Sun (February 26, 1986; Benguela, Angola; time unknown) positioned between the two benefics Venus and Jupiter, which ordinarily would be considered an extremely lucky placement. However, her Sun also squares Saturn in moralistic Sagittarius, which tends to attract circumstances that test her ethical judgment. Transiting Saturn was perfectly quincunx her Venus when her beauty was favorably judged last week.
Leila Lopes won the Miss Universe contest as transiting Uranus was conjunct her progressed Sun in early Aries. A few days later, when transiting Venus opposed that complex, Miss France accused her of wearing jeans and no make-up while hanging around back stage (meeeooowww!). Her progressed Jupiter is now at 7º Pisces,
These triwheel segments are set for Obama's progressed Full Moon on November 5, 2011. The inside wheel is Obama's natal, with the outer two wheels being his progressions and transits for this date.
As I wrote last April, one potential outcome of these alignments is a government shutdown over the federal budget. Also in November, transiting Neptune forms a hard aspect to the U.S. Sun (a 135º trioctile), and denotes ongoing uncertainty over the nation’s future, as well as Obama’s inability to have any real influence over Congress’s dysfunctional behavior. Other potential crises are certainly possible, but Washington doesn’t look pretty from here.

Mercury, the natural ruler of documents, is found in misty Pisces, where it squares Uranus, a combination that gives her a keen imagination and quick wit, but potentially, the ability to falsify facts. Alleged child murderer Casey Anthony, who was born three weeks after Miss Lopes, has the same configuration. Currently, Lopes’ progressed Mercury is retrograde at 19º Pisces. Transiting Saturn will quincunx that progressed Mercury in early October when we should get Trump’s decision.
