"The natal chart is like a seed and progressions are the unfolding in time of that into the plant it is to become. Transits, are like a daily weather report. In political astrology, these three factors have to be taken into account!"

Asteroids - I just would like to say thank you for your interesting websits about Juno and other asteroids. It is problem that my english is really very bad, so i have a problem to talk more profoundly on this subject. Past weeks i try to study Juno and Vesta too, but it's long time study I think. I wish you all the best.
Rick Perry - As you said last week, Obama may face Perry or Romney. What does the "birthtime" announcement of Perry's candidacy add to that idea? And, how does John Huntsman now fit into the scheme of things, since an item you sent out a few weeks ago seemed to say that he has the strongest birth chart compared to the U.S. chart? Could any 2 out of 3 of these form a Prez/VEEP ticket combo?
Vietnam - You're the top: your analysis are superb, especially the politics and economic issues. I love history and as for Vietnam war and such tragic period in American history, I wish you would make some analysis on it. I watched "Path to war" from HBO and it is so impressive, so well played and directed and awakening so much about that. Could you please make an astro analysis about that? Thank you and best compliments to your marvellous site and work!
The U.S. Moon - I love to read your column because you do such superb work and the 8º Scorpio chart works beautifully for your predictions. But I've been watching the 28º Aqu point as the US Moon for several years now and I'm convinced this is the degree. A few pieces of data just off the top of my head: Space Shuttle Crash when Uranus transit 28º Aqu. Last big national blackout when Jupiter in Leo opposed at 27º and some degrees Leo. Oil rig disaster when Neptune transit 28º Aqu last time.
A. Yes, 28º AQ does seem like a critical point. Did you know that 28ºAQ12' is exactly trioctile (sesquiquadrate) the U.S. Sun at 13ºCN12'?

Ceres and the Insurance Companies
Last week, CERES (the Coalition of Environmentally Responsible Economies) reported that a broad consensus of national insurance companies is convinced that climate change is creating more extreme weather events. As one commentator* wrote, “if anyone is going to feel a rise in global temperature – and the destructive weather it causes around the planet - it’s the people who have to pay for it.”
* For some illuminating commentary on the Ceres report and revealing quotes from the insurance companies, read Al Lewis’s column
The non-profit group CERES and the astrological Ceres are on the same wavelength when it comes to representing sustainable economies. Ceres’ symbolism is derived from the Roman Goddess of fertility and agriculture, and by extension, she is the caretaker of our planet’s ecology. In the Scorpio Rising U.S. horoscope, Ceres has a unique connection to national insurance companies, since she forms aspects to Jupiter and Uranus in the 8th house.
The 8th house is associated with leveraged capital, and includes those risk-assessment companies that collect periodic fees and then pay out if disaster hits. As transiting Pluto opposed the U.S. Jupiter over the past year, the insurance companies have had to make huge payments for an unprecedented wave of historic weather-related disasters, including tornadoes, floods, droughts, and wildfires - not to mention Hurricane Irene.

Texas Wildfires
Is it irony? Since last December, wildfires have consumed 3.6 million acres of Texas, an area the size of Connecticut. This weather-related disaster* is the worst in Texas history, and fueled by the planting of non-native, combustible plants for the benefit of cattle. Meanwhile, Texas Governor Rick Perry denies global warming, and has balanced the state budget in part by slashing funds for volunteer firefighters.
The CERES report noted that most insurers have not yet properly assessed the risks of climate change, even if they see its effects. The models for measuring risk are based on the past, but as next year’s intense and unpredictable Uranus-Pluto square approaches, the past becomes a poor statistical tool. The national insurance companies will be especially vulnerable to the Uranus-Pluto transit, since it hits the U.S. Ceres-Uranus-Jupiter configuration.
The horoscope for Texas (December 29, 1845; Austin, TX; time unknown) offers a window into the politics of the Lone Star state. With its Sun and Moon in business-oriented Capricorn, Texas naturally leads the nation in oil and gas production as well as cattle, sheep and cotton. The Sun’s square to a Mars-Uranus conjunction in Aries adds urgency to these drives, and also shows the state’s radical independence.
Texas plays a primary role in national politics, and this can be seen through the close planetary connections to the U.S. horoscope. Primarily, Texas has a Saturn-Pallas conjunction at 16º Aquarius, exactly in line with the U.S. MC/IC axis. Also, Texas’ Juno at 8º Scorpio conjoins the U.S. Scorpio Ascendant. This year, Texas has its progressed Venus and Ceres at 8º Taurus, activating the Juno connection and thrusting Rick Perry onto the national scene.
Coming up for Texas, its natal Sun-Mars-Uranus dynamic will continue to be dynamically influenced by next year’s Uranus-Pluto square: transiting Pluto will conjoin the Texas Sun, while transiting Uranus is returning to its natal place. This Pluto-Sun aspect is empowering Rick Perry, who indulges in his own brand of in-your-face politics. While many Republicans may enjoy his style, Texans themselves are due for continuing environmental disaster due to the ongoing activation of Mars, the natural ruler of fires.
George Clooney’s summer romance with former DWTS star Stacy Keibler became semi-public last week when the couple was spotted partying at the Toronto International Film Festival. Clooney was there to market his new film, "The Ides of March", while Keibler accompanied him on the promotional circuit. Meanwhile, Clooney’s ex, Italian actress Elisabetta Canalis, was in LA preparing for her debut on DWTS.
George Clooney was born with Juno right on his Pisces Ascendant (May 6, 1961; 2:58 am; Lexington, KY), a placement that generally feels most comfortable in a committed relationship. However, in Clooney’s case, Juno carries wounds by its conjunction with Chiron, and experiences of betrayal by the opposition to Pluto. Clooney tried marriage once, and was deeply disap-pointed, vowing never to marry again.
Still, he and Stacy (October 14, 1979) have some good astrological connections. The sexual chemistry is strong, since they share mutual Venus-Mars interchanges (his Mars squares her Venus; her Mars trines his Venus). They both have Mars in Leo and a prominent Pluto (her Sun-Pluto conjunction; his Pluto angular) which shows a comfort in the limelight and charismatic qualities appreciated by the masses.
One of the closest inter-aspects is his Ceres opposite her Sun-Pluto. Something in her evokes his Inner
Mother, often a signal for a more enduring, caring relationship. Although they only began seeing each other a few months ago, he’s already introduced her to his mother and reportedly, they got along quite well. However, Clooney’s Juno-Pluto won’t let him get in too deep. Stacy might learn from Elisabetta’s case: when she expressed a desire to have children, she quickly found herself single.
