"The natal chart is like a seed and progressions are the unfolding in time of that into the plant it is to become. Transits, are like a daily weather report. In political astrology, these three factors have to be taken into account!"

re: Gary Johnson - I really enjoy your NewsScopes. I was looking into Gary Johnson, former governor of New Mexico, as a possible 3rd party candidate and I see he has Venus at 25 degrees Aquarius trine a Pluto/SNeptune conjunction in Libra. Any thoughts on him emerging?

re: Wisconsin recall - I am an avid fan of yours and check your website every week as I am in awe of your ability to accurately forecast future events. I am actively involved in the recall election of governor Scott Walker of  Wisconsin and was wondering if you could give us some insight into the Recall election results. We must produce 540,000 plus signatures by January 15, 2012. The start of the recall has produced over 50,000 in the first 48 hours and our team is greatly energized by the recent Ohio win.
Specifically, I am wondering if the recall will be successful and what are his chances of winning the recall election which is projected to be held in May or June of 2012. I am concerned about his Scorpio stellium and the transiting sextile of Pluto and then trine from Neptune.

re: Natalie Wood - What do you think of the Natalie Wood thing re-emerging now?

re: Supercommittee - Will you be doing a column on the Super Committee deadline occurring on the 1st day of Mercury Rx?

re: Kim Kardashian divorce - say it aint so! So for Christmas -- rebound toy.  Making 17 million on a wedding tends to make me cynical on the seriousness of it too. Although that is serious money.

re: KK divorce - I just saw that Kim Kardashian is getting divorced. What happened? She just got disenchanted? Pity. I'm a fan of hers, she's utterly lovely.

A. - From NewsScope, June 6, 2011:

< However, the many Uranian elements (the current transit, his Uranus square her Venus, her progressed Moon opposite natal Uranus) are not conducive to actually living together. Kim’s prominent Saturn indicates that she’s totally in charge, that Kris is a toy to play with and then set aside when she gets bored. >

re: Mignini - Golly, it's nice that a lawyer can maintain a professional level of objectivity. What an ass. But that is a Pluto-in-the-7th-house view of the world: seeing the other as one of two extremes, black or white, madonna or whore.

Newt Gingrich Surges

According to the latest poll numbers, Newt Gingrich is in a statistical dead heat with Mitt Romney as the GOP’s top choice for the 2012 presidential nomination. Is Gingrich the latest flavor of the month? Will he flame out like Bachmann, Perry, and Cain before him? Unlike the others, Gingrich has quite a few close connections to the U.S. horoscope.
At the moment, Gingrich’s progressed Midheaven is exactly trine natal Jupiter, which has brought him this surge in the polls. Over the next few months, transiting Saturn trine his Sun and transiting Pluto trine his Ascendant offer plenty of support to keep him in the limelight as a viable candidate. Some challenging Neptune transits may eventually undermine him, but he’s much more than a whimsical alternative to Romney.
Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe

Actress Michelle Williams stars in the highly praised My Week with Marilyn, which was released nationwide last week. Based on actual events, the film depicts Marilyn Monroe’s amorous adventures in London while she was making The Prince and the Showgirl. Michelle Williams has previously received Oscar nominations for her roles in Brokenback Mountain and Blue Valentine.

Michelle Williams was born with a Sun-Moon-Jupiter triple conjunction in Virgo (September 9, 1980; Kalispell, MT; time unknown), a rare and fortunate combination that brings an inner radiance and optimism that naturally spreads to others. The Sun’s sextile to Uranus adds personal magnetism and celebrity status, while the square to Neptune brings creative imagination and a chameleon-like ability to become her cinematic characters.
Gemini Marilyn Monroe (June 1, 1926; 9:30 am; Los Angeles, CA) was a pseudo-intellectual crippled by self-doubt (Moon opposite Neptune and square Saturn) but praised for her sexual charms and playfulness (elevated Venus in Aries trine Ceres-Neptune, sextile Jupiter). Although Michelle’s Venus is illuminated in Leo, it doesn’t have the outer planet connections to make her a sex goddess.

What Michelle does have is an ability to study and analyze, thanks to her Mercury-Saturn conjunction in Virgo. Once she landed the role (stealing it from Scarlett Johansson), she spent months reading biographies, diaries, and letters about Marilyn. She had to gain weight for the role, and learn to walk like Marilyn from a choreographer. With transiting Mars in Virgo now, and activating Michelle’s progressed Venus in Virgo and her natal Virgo planets, critical acclaim and an Oscar nomination are surely in the near future.
Newt Gingrich was born with his Sun at 25º Gemini (June 17, 1943; 3:03 am; Harrisburg, PA) which is sextile to his Chiron at 25º Leo. Both these placements promote favor with a national audience, as shown by their tight connections to the U.S. Moon at 25º Aquarius. His Ascendant at 8º Taurus is perfectly aligned with the U.S. Scorpio Ascendant, and his Jupiter at 27º Cancer is likewise perfectly aligned with the U.S. Pluto, the nation’s ruling planet.

Gingrich’s problem is that he is the ultimate insider, someone who has mastered the revolving door between politics and Big Business. Mars in his 12th house indicates a national figure who knows how the backdoor channels work. Since leaving Congress, he’s made millions promoting Freddie Mac, Microsoft, GE, IBM, and a handful of top-paying corporate health concerns.
December’s Top Five Astro-Events

1. Mercury and the Sun square Mars from the 1st through 5th, creating a hectic, accident-prone phase. Since Mercury is retrograde, hasty, absentminded, or thoughtless action can damage relationships. Avoid rude people, and be extra alert for erratic drivers and treacherous road conditions. Bite your tongue before blurting out absurdities. Many will jump to erroneous conclusions.

2. Jupiter sextiles Chiron on the 6th but is a strong influence during the first two weeks of December. This pairing is exceptionally favorable for those working in alternative health fields, and individuals who are evolving through an understanding of the mind-body connection. Well-being can be improved through the use of acupuncture, massage therapy, nutrition, herbs, and astrology.

3. Uranus turns direct on the 9th at zero degrees Aries, marking a heightened expression of revolutionary ferver, notably in the Middle East, the various Occupy movements, and the southern tier nations of the EU. Uranus is trioctile Juno, bringing sudden and unexpected crises within marriage or other committed relationships. Watch this play out in celebrity break-ups.

4. The Lunar Eclipse on the 10th squares Ceres in Pisces and Mars in Virgo. This tense mutable cross fosters anxiety, existential questions, mistakes in judgment, and much confusion. As the Moon becomes full, the Mars influence may be expressed as excessive criticizing and fault-finding. Craftwork of all kinds is favored, and attitudes should improve after Mercury turns direct on the 13th.

5. Saturn squares the U.S. Pluto on the 21st, strengthening the conservative political and financial forces. Since Saturn is in the U.S. 12th house, political gridlock is likely for most of December. Saturn here also indicates a tough behind-the-scenes fight over extending payroll tax cuts and unemployment benefits. Jupiter turning direct in Taurus on the 24th implies some last minute accord.
