"The natal chart is like a seed and progressions are the unfolding in time of that into the plant it is to become. Transits, are like a daily weather report. In political astrology, these three factors have to be taken into account!"

re: Wisconsin recall - I am an avid fan of yours and check your website every week as I am in awe of your ability to accurately forecast future events. I am actively involved in the recall election of governor Scott Walker of  Wisconsin and was wondering if you could give us some insight into the Recall election results. We must produce 540,000 plus signatures by January 15, 2012. The start of the recall has produced over 50,000 in the first 48 hours and our team is greatly energized by the recent Ohio win.
Specifically, I am wondering if the recall will be successful and what are his chances of winning the recall election which is projected to be held in May or June of 2012. I am concerned about his Scorpio stellium and the transiting sextile of Pluto and then trine from Neptune.

re: Natalie Wood - What do you think of the Natalie Wood thing re-emerging now?

re: Supercommittee - Will you be doing a column on the Super Committee deadline occurring on the 1st day of Mercury Rx?

re: Kim Kardashian divorce - say it aint so! So for Christmas -- rebound toy.  Making 17 million on a wedding tends to make me cynical on the seriousness of it too. Although that is serious money.

re: KK divorce - I just saw that Kim Kardashian is getting divorced. What happened? She just got disenchanted? Pity. I'm a fan of hers, she's utterly lovely.

A. - From NewsScope, June 6, 2011:

< However, the many Uranian elements (the current transit, his Uranus square her Venus, her progressed Moon opposite natal Uranus) are not conducive to actually living together. Kim’s prominent Saturn indicates that she’s totally in charge, that Kris is a toy to play with and then set aside when she gets bored. >

re: Mignini - Golly, it's nice that a lawyer can maintain a professional level of objectivity. What an ass. But that is a Pluto-in-the-7th-house view of the world: seeing the other as one of two extremes, black or white, madonna or whore.

re: Hawaii Five-O -  I just found out that both of the leads of the new Hawaii 5 0 share the same birthday!  It strikes me as so funny when I watch the show because they are as different as night and day. It would be fun to get your take on it.
Alex O'Loughlin (Steve McGarrett) was born Aug 24, 1976 in the morning in Canberra, Australia.  Scott Caan was born Aug 23, 1976 at night in LA.  They said in an interview they were born only a few hours apart.
I want to know why O'Loughlin is so unbelievably hot, and Caan is not quite.  They have the same planets for goodness sakes.....can a rising sign make so much difference?

re: GOP candidates - Your analysis of the candidates has been very interesting and on point
so far. I am curious about Herman Cain and his surge in the polls and wonder when Gov. Perry will finally bow out, if ever. Enjoy your column. Thanks

Mars and the SuperCommittee

Mars is in Virgo now, but due to its periodic retrograde cycle, will remain in this sign an unusually long time – all the way through early July 2012. On the plus side, this phase fosters keen competence, analysis, and a methodical approach to solving problems. On the down side, Mars here can bring biting criticism, persistent nagging, and obsessive hairsplitting.
A reader asks about the astrological influences leading up to the Supercommittee deadline, and as it turns out, Mars in Virgo is a key player. In the U.S. horoscope a rare progression is shaping up that clearly defines the current crisis condition: the progressed Sun at 7º Pisces is squaring progressed Uranus at 7º Gemini. In the Scorpio Rising chart, Uranus is in the 8th house of budgets and deficit spending. This tense, electrically charged aspect has been growing in strength over the last several months, and becomes exact on December 7.

The Supercommittee’s deadline for reaching a bipartisan agreement is Wednesday, November 23. Currently, Mars is in the early degrees of Virgo, and therefore activating the long-term progressed Sun-Uranus aspect. This explosive, volatile configuration is not conducive to attaining any kind of accord. Over the coming week, other unexpected, upsetting, and potentially violent events are quite possible in the American homeland.

The U.S. progressed Sun will then square natal Uranus in October 2013, which tells us how long this deficit impasse will likely last. The enforced budget cuts don’t go into effect until 2013, so Congress has until then to act. In the meantime, transiting Mars will zigzag back and forth across this critical degree, bringing relentless criticism of the opposition party and annoying disagreements over budget specifics. Under stress, getting lost in the details is normal for Mars in Virgo.
Mars and the OWS

In political astrology, Mars in Virgo is associated with service-oriented police who faithfully carry out the orders of their civilian leaders. Within days of Mars entering Virgo on November 11, police dressed in riot gear ousted the protestors from their two-month encampment in New York’s Zuccotti Park. Similar actions in Occupy Oakland, Occupy Portland and elsewhere suggested coordinated plans among the affected cities’ mayors.
A look at the OWS horoscope (July 13, 2011; New York, NY, noon) reveals why this sudden change in tactics has taken place. Transiting Pluto at the base of the chart is at 5º Capricorn, and retrograde. For the first time since the OWS protest was announced, Pluto has returned to its natal position. This naturally coincides with the mayors re-taking control of their cities.

Simultaneously, the transiting Mercury-Venus conjunction opposed the OWS Mars last week when the police actions were carried out. This transit underscores the importance of the OWS Mars when tracking the potential for violent clashes. Transiting Mars is now heading into the square with the OWS Mars (exact on December 17), so we can anticipate increasing conflict between protestors and the police.
Just as Pluto’s return to its natal place ignited a reactionary impulse to maintain control, Uranus’s return to its natal place will likewise ignite a counter-revolutionary impulse. Uranus was also retrograde when the initial OWS protest was announced, and will return to its natal position for the first time in late March 2012. The transiting Sun-Uranus conjunction on March 24, 2012 will likely be a memorable day in this movement, kicking off the American version of the Arab Spring.

Mars and Natalie Wood

“Our darling sweet mom used to tell Natalie that she would die by drowning.… It gave Natalie a great fear of water,” explained Lana Wood in a TMZ interview last week. Now that the Natalie Wood’s drowning case is being re-opened, the events that fateful night between Natalie, her husband Robert Wagner, and her Brainstorm co-star Christopher Walken are being re-examined.
Natalie Wood was born with a powerful Sun-Mars-Pluto triple conjunction in Cancer (July 20, 1938; 11:16 am; San Francisco, CA). In the tenth house of career and parents, this configuration describes her close relationship with her mother as well as her own formidable success as a major Hollywood actor. Neptune is located in her 12th house, where it reflects her fear of drowning.

Natalie drowned on November 29, 1981 as transiting Mars was in Virgo and near her 12th house Neptune. Now that Mars has re-entered Virgo for an extended stay, we can expect a methodical investigation to discover the details of exactly what happened that fateful night. Robert Wagner (February 10, 1930; 1:45 am; Detroit, MI) was born with his Mars opposite Natalie’s Mars, a combination that often breaks out in arguments or fights.
About Natalie’s fear of water and Wagner’s alleged complicity, see:
 foxnews.com/natalie-wood-had-eerie-lifelong-connection-to-water
Here’s a good summary of the various scenarios: hollywood-crimes/natalie-wood
Although she feared drowning, Natalie’s 5th house Jupiter is in watery Pisces. This placement describes the abundance of romantic flings she had in her life, which oddly enough, often took place around water or on boats. A Mercury-Uranus conjunction in Sagittarius that night was squaring Natalie’s 5th house Jupiter, and she was having fun teasing Robert with Christopher’s affections for her. Finally, it ticked Robert off, leading to events that landed Natalie in the dark water. He reportedly said, “Leave her there, teach her a lesson.”
