"The natal chart is like a seed and progressions are the unfolding in time of that into the plant it is to become. Transits, are like a daily weather report. In political astrology, these three factors have to be taken into account!"

re: Gary Johnson - I really enjoy your NewsScopes. I was looking into Gary Johnson, former governor of New Mexico, as a possible 3rd party candidate and I see he has Venus at 25 degrees Aquarius trine a Pluto/SNeptune conjunction in Libra. Any thoughts on him emerging?
re: Wisconsin recall - I am an avid fan of yours and check your website every week as I am in awe of your ability to accurately forecast future events. I am actively involved in the recall election of governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin and was wondering if you could give us some insight into the Recall election results. We must produce 540,000 plus signatures by January 15, 2012. The start of the recall has produced over 50,000 in the first 48 hours and our team is greatly energized by the recent Ohio win.
Specifically, I am wondering if the recall will be successful and what are his chances of winning the recall election which is projected to be held in May or June of 2012. I am concerned about his Scorpio stellium and the transiting sextile of Pluto and then trine from Neptune.

re: Kim Kardashian divorce - say it aint so! So for Christmas -- rebound toy. Making 17 million on a wedding tends to make me cynical on the seriousness of it too. Although that is serious money.
re: KK divorce - I just saw that Kim Kardashian is getting divorced. What happened? She just got disenchanted? Pity. I'm a fan of hers, she's utterly lovely.
A. - From NewsScope, June 6, 2011:
< However, the many Uranian elements (the current transit, his Uranus square her Venus, her progressed Moon opposite natal Uranus) are not conducive to actually living together. Kim’s prominent Saturn indicates that she’s totally in charge, that Kris is a toy to play with and then set aside when she gets bored. >
re: Mignini - Golly, it's nice that a lawyer can maintain a professional level of objectivity. What an ass. But that is a Pluto-in-the-7th-house view of the world: seeing the other as one of two extremes, black or white, madonna or whore.

Mars activates the Uranus-Pluto Generation
From November 1961 through September 1968, the revolutionary, transformative planets Uranus and Pluto were passing through the sign of Virgo. For most of that time, they were no more than five degrees apart, creating a moving conjunction while fostering technological, social and political upheaval. Now that Uranus and Pluto are forming their opening square, the Uranus-Pluto vibe is once again upsetting the status quo.
The generation born during the 1960s Uranus-Pluto conjunction carries this Inner Revolutionary with them wherever they go. The extent to which individuals are aware of this inner need for fundamental change from a corrupt, stagnant, or decaying social order varies from one person to the next, depending on how well they can mediate this with other planetary needs and environmental influences.
Following the Virgo need to be of service, perhaps one of the most important needs for this generation is to find meaningful and fulfilling work. Many have participated in the technological revolution that began then - especially in the field of computers and telecommunications, which relies on Virgo’s precision at very small magnitudes of scale. Others have identified with family and social expectations, as symbolized by Saturn, and have denied their radical tendencies.
Now that transiting Mars is in Virgo, those born during the Uranus-Pluto conjunction are worrying about the world they have helped create. Many feel insecure in their professional world, while others are deeply conflicted about standards that they may not be able to meet. This generation has a unique opportunity to lead the changes that are coming, but it means owning their own Inner Revolutionary, and finding creative and constructive ways of expressing it.
EU to Set Limits
Led by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, European leaders will be gathering this week in Brussels to create a plan for fiscal stability in the Euro Zone. Merkel is proposing legally binding deficit limits in every nation within the European Union, and wants to empower the European Commission to intervene against governments that overspend. She admits that fixing these economic problems will take years
The European Union (November 1, 1993; 12 am; Brussels) has Taurus at the Midheaven, which describes its over-arching purpose as a financial union. Venus, the ruler of the Midheaven, is located in Libra, where it is in a stressful square to the epochal Uranus-Neptune conjunction. Venus in Libra naturally strives for cooperation, but because of the Uranus-Neptune conjunction in Capricorn, local or national cultural differences become obstacles.
However, Venus is strengthened by a trine to a Pallas-Saturn conjunction in the networking, group-mind sign of Aquarius. Venus is also near Jupiter in Libra, which seeks justice and fair play in all interactions. Over the past few months, transiting Saturn has passed over the EU Venus, trined natal Pallas-Saturn, and is now heading for the conjunction with Jupiter. Saturn’s task of setting limits and (in Libra) establishing a sense of fair play is evident in Merkel’s plan.
As described here three weeks ago, the EU’s progressed Saturn is being pressured by a square to the natal Mars-Pluto conjunction, which refers to the long process Merkel is describing and/or the potential collapse that many economists fear. The EU has an opportunity now to set the path straight, as transiting Jupiter is right on the EU Midheaven. Saturn, the planet of limits, and Jupiter, the planet of opportunity, are working together.
The Dalai Lama Goes Beyond Religion
Although the Dalai Lama officially retired from politics earlier this year, the upcoming Uranus-Pluto square is sure to thrust him and his message into the turmoil of global change. This week, his message becomes clear with the publication of his book “Beyond Religion”,** which calls for a new way of thinking about spirituality and ethics that goes beyond organized religion.
The Dalai Lama was born with his Sun in home-loving Cancer (July 6, 1935; 4:38 am; Tengster, Tibet), where it trines Saturn in the 9th house of religion and publishing. The Sun also trines religious Jupiter in intense Scorpio, and is conjunct the Cancer Ascendant. This Water Grand Trine refers to a luminous personality with a rich inner life, and marks him as a religious leader.
The Dalai Lama has a Pallas-Pluto conjunction near his South Node in Cancer that squares Mars. This configuration describes his life as a political leader in exile, since he took refuge in India during the 1959 Chinese invasion of Tibet. The traumatic loss of his homeland at this time did not fill him with vengeance or hate. To the contrary, he began to embrace the concept of compassion as his essential message to a violent world.
Many people born with Saturn in the 9th house become fixated with their local organized religion. In the Dalai Lama’s case, progressive, universal Uranus is the co-ruler because he has Aquarius on the 9th house cusp. Now, as his groundbreaking book is released, his progressed Moon is coming out of his reclusive 12th house, and is exactly sextile Uranus. Factor in the upcoming Uranus-Pluto square activating his Ascendant and Sun over the next few years, and we can see that this holy man is becoming a global shape-shifter and paradigm buster.
