Reader Feedback re: Market Meltdown, one more feature of last Thursday's sudden "glitch" in the market trading was transiting Mars conjunct Uranus in the NYSE chart which you provided in the May Dell Horoscope article. If I interpret this correctly, Mars (haste) conjunct Uranus (electronic trading) led to the fat finger fiasco.

the Number One Terrorist Threat
A curious thread connects Faisal Shahzad - the perpetrator of last week's Times Square bomb plot - with the most serious terrorist activities on U.S. soil. The militant Islamic preacher Anwar al-Awlaki* inspired Shahzad with his fiery internet sermons and calls for jihad. The American-born al-Awlaki also guided the Fort Hood shooter, the Christmas Day "underpants bomber", the "shoe bomber", and other English-speaking Muslims.
Anwar al-Awlaki was born with his Sun in serene Taurus (April 22, 1971; Las Cruces, NM; time unknown), a placement that is given a spiritual aura by its close quincunx to the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in Sagittarius. A Moon-Venus conjunction in Pisces gives him empathy and charm, and a fundamental interest in self-sacrifice, faith-oriented devotion, and a longing for spiritual realities.
While his prominent Neptune and Pisces placements allow him to readily identify with being a victim, his Sun is given a warrior's mentality by its square to Mars. His Mercury in fiery Aries also squares Mars, and this configuration makes him a vengeful speaker, ready to take action for his beliefs. Mars is given a survivor's instincts by trines to Pluto and Saturn. He has an uncanny ability to elude arrest and capture.
Venus (and likely his Moon) opposes Pluto, with all three squaring Juno. These feminine planets are thereby given sexual intensity, but repressed due to his religious and cultural heritage. While in the U.S., al-Awlaki had been known to dally with prostitutes, but now that he's a refugee in Yemen, these outlets are blocked. The current Saturn-Uranus opposition activates his Venus, and offers a clue to how he can be tracked down.

Market Meltdown
Last Thursday, when the Dow plummeted a record 1000 points within a few breathtaking minutes, traders were given a wake-up call about the market's vulnerability. Financial astrologer Arch Crawford warns that general optimism about the economy is now peaking, and that the Cardinal Grand Cross shaping up for this summer will bring a total collapse of prices and a global depression.

About last week's meltdown, here are the astrological details: Saturn and Uranus opposed each other on April 26. That was the day that the Dow reached its high at 11,258. The implied volatility of Uranus had disrupted the Dow's steady trend (Saturn). Simultaneously, a transiting Sun-Mars square added energy (volume) to the downward movement, especially since Mars was crossing the NYSE's Leo Ascendant.
The Saturn-Uranus opposition is just one facet of a five-planet alignment, which reaches a climax (the tightest configuration) around August 1. The June 26 Lunar Eclipse will be conjunct Pluto and may kick off whatever is in store for us – perhaps some disaster like Chernobyl, which unfolded when the April 1986 Lunar Eclipse was conjunct Pluto.
Considering the U.S. horoscope, the five planets align with the U.S. Venus-Jupiter, which is definitely stressful to the overall economic condition. However, the progressed chart suggests some resilience: the progressed Sun, now at 5º Pisces, is entering into a trine with the U.S. Jupiter. This aspect grows in strength between now and October 30, when it's exact and offers tremendous protection against the intense dynamics of the Cardinal Grand Cross. Since we live in a global economy, the U.S. becomes more vulnerable after that.

Dr. Phil advises that for good mental health we should change our routines now and then. Last Friday on The Oprah Winfrey Show he was sharing some of his best tips, and "shake things up" was near the top. The TV shrink, following his own advice, then had Oprah shave off his mustache – that trademark soup strainer that he's sported for the last 40 years.
Phil McGraw was born with his Sun in analytical, finicky Virgo (September 1, 1950; 7:15 pm; Vinita, Oklahoma) and his Moon in stylish Taurus, a combination that suggests his mustache has been a source of pride and closely identified with his role as a self-help guru. Rigid Saturn is exactly opposite his sensitive Pisces Ascendant, a strong modifying influence that tends to fixate on an established personal image.
Changing one's projected image generally involves major transits and/or progressions to the Ascendant or its ruling planet. Recently, transiting Jupiter was conjunct his Ascendant, undoubtedly giving him the confidence for a new presentation. His progressed Ascendant is now at 15º Gemini where it's trine his Neptune (the ruler of his Ascendant) at 15º Libra. These are favorable influences for a new look.
But people with Saturn aspecting the Ascendant don't change their image based solely on favorable aspects. The transiting Saturn-Uranus opposition aligned with his progressed Saturn suggests feelings of stagnation and the need to break free. Shaving off his mustache represents liberation from his professional image as a tough-love elder, which perhaps lately
has drifted toward quackery. Oprah smiled at the make-over, and said he looks younger.
