NewsScope; September 21, 2009; The current cover story in Time magazine features controversial political commentator Glenn Beck, a "mad man" with a gift for exploiting fear and paranoia. "He is the hottest thing in the political-rant racket, left or right." Unmentioned in the Time piece is that Beck called Obama a racist during his FoxTV segment, which resulted in a massive advertiser boycott.
Glenn Beck was born with his Aquarius Sun conjunct Mars and Saturn (February 10, 1964; Mount Vernon, WA; time unknown), giving him the same anger and control issues as Sarah Palin, who was born the day after Beck. Typical of the socially-minded Aquarian, both have turned their personal angst into large-scale issues. Since their Sun-Mars-Saturn is also conjunct the U.S. Moon, they have both reached a national audience.
In the broader celestial scheme, the outer planets Saturn, Uranus and Pluto are now entering into a T-square formation. Last week Saturn and Uranus were exactly opposite, and now Saturn is advancing into its first square with Pluto, becoming exact on November 15. As detailed by

In the U.S., we can anticipate a rise in angry reactionaries who oppose the Uranian changes espoused by Team Obama. The last time Saturn, Uranus and Pluto were dynamically aligned was in the mid-1960s, when the Uranus-Pluto conjunction opposed Saturn. At the time, profound social and political unrest was experienced throughout the global village. We can expect no less this time around....

NewsScope, September 20, 2010; Sarah Palin's appearance in Iowa last Friday, plus the recent success of her favorite Tea Party candidates, makes her the GOP's leading contender for the 2012 presidential race. Yet she remains highly controversial and more idealistic than knowledgeable on the issues. Will she run? Astrologers can't really say without an accurate birth time, and the times offered are unsourced and make little astrological sense.
For the sake of argument, I'm proposing a 4:55 pm birth time (February 11, 1964; Sandpoint, Idaho). This gives her proud, outgoing Leo Rising and places her Sun-Mars-Saturn triple conjunction right on the Descendant. An angular Mars accounts for her athleticism and her in-your-face political commentaries. With Taurus at her Midheaven, Venus becomes the ruler of her professional life, which is in assertive Aries and unusually well-aspected.
Sarah eloped with her high-school sweetheart Todd Palin on August 29, 1988 to spare her parents the expense of a "big white wedding". This life-changing event took place as transiting Pluto was conjunct her fourth house cusp, suggesting the dramatic departure from her home. Also, transiting Jupiter was favorably conjunct her progressed Midheaven, while her progressed Ascendant was trine her natal Midheaven.
John McCain picked Palin as his running mate on August 27, 2008. At the time, her progressed Midheaven (her evolving career point) was favorably trine her 7th house Saturn (symbolizing an older partner). Currently, transiting Sedna is in a long term square to her Sun, identifying her with the vain, avenging goddess from the Alaskan Arctic. Over the next two years, Palin's Venus gets activated by major transits and progressions, so we can expect to see much more of her as the 2012 election season draws near.
David Koch's Tea Party

According to a recent article in The New Yorker*, these two co-owners of Koch Industries (the second largest private corporation in the United States) are the financial and intellectual backers of the Tea Party movement.

David Koch (May 3, 1940; Wichita, KS; time unknown) is the most politically active, having run to the right of Ronald Reagan as the Libertarian Party's vice presidential candidate in 1980. His money-savvy Sun in Taurus forms harmonious trines to Ceres and Neptune in Virgo, which have inspired
him to work through charitable organizations. David Koch is widely respected in New York as a major philanthropist.

The tour bus, the buttons for sale, and the thousands of fans lining up all had the feeling of a political campaign, though Palin has not said whether or not she will run, only that she's keeping her options open.
Astrologically, the surge in conservative politics on the national radar screen arrives just as Saturn and Pluto are squaring each other. This belt-tightening, restrictive Saturn-Pluto vibration was also in play when the GOP took two key governorships earlier in the month. While Palin sucked up all the political oxygen, the Republican governors were meeting quietly in Texas to plot strategy for the mid-term elections next November.

Reader response on rectified birth time: I think Sarah Palin is a Gemini rising. I've rectified her chart to about 11am, give or take. It puts Capricorn on the 9th, which supports her religious affiliation. And of course it puts her Sun in the 10th, which thrusts her into the public eye. Saturn in general represents government, so putting that in the 10th works too. Moon Merc conjunction could be in the 9th, or on the MC.

Tea Party group gets $1 million anonymous donation

A donor who does not want to be named has written a $1 million check to Tea Party Patriots, and the organization's national coordinators intend to push the funds out into the field by the beginning of next month -- in time to help with get-out-the-vote efforts for the Nov. 2 election.
In a Q&A with reporters at the National Press Club, Mark Meckler and Jenny Beth Martin of Tea Party Patriots dropped a few hints about their benefactor: "He" is a businessman and entrepreneur, they said. Asked if he had given to other political causes, Meckler said he didn't know.
The anonymous nature of the donation was Topic A at the press conference where Meckler and Martin announced the grant. Organized as a "social welfare" group under section 501(c)4 of the tax code, the Tea Party Patriots is not regulated by federal campaign finance laws and is not required to make its funding sources public.
