Kristi Yamaguchi Scores 27

NewsScope, March 27, 2008. Kristi Yamaguchi (July 12, 1971; 9:02 am; Hayward, CA) has most of the astrological traits needed to win the coveted, glitzy glass ball trophy. Her Cancer Sun's closest aspect is the quincunx to Mars, giving her the vitality and competitive spirit required to do the high-energy dance moves. Also, her Chiron at 13º Aries is exactly conjunct the DWTS Moon, making her a fan favorite.

Kristi's chart shows neither the Sun nor the Moon in Taurus, which all the previous winners have had. The prominent Taurus factor is found, however, with her natal Midheaven and Pallas in Taurus. By secondary progression, Pallas is the most prominent planet in her chart, since it's exactly squaring her Ascendant. Taurus is what keeps her centered while dancing before 20 million viewers.

How to Win Dancing with the Stars

NewsScope, February 4, 2008. The cast for Season 6 of Dancing with the Stars was announced a few weeks ago, in preparation for the two-hour debut on Match 17. Who will win? Let's imagine you are a celebrity who's been invited to participate in the next season of Dancing with the Stars. What would it take for you to win the glass-ball trophy? Here are some clues

Kristi Yamaguchi Scores 27

NewsScope, March 27, 2008. Champion figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi became the celebrity to beat in last week's Dancing with the Stars premiere, as she scored a 27––the highest first-week score in the show's history. Fellow contestant Penn Jillette, whose sluggish, clumsy performance put him at the bottom of the
The DWTS Horoscope

Is there a way to predict who will win the Dancing With the Stars competition? After a bit of research, I discovered that the show's premier on June 1, 2005 (5:00 pm; Los Angeles, CA)
could be used as the birth moment for the U.S. version of Dancing with the Stars. The format had already been successfully tested in the U.K., and after the huge success in the U.S., the show sprouted dozens of imitations across the global village. Most importantly, Kristi is undergoing a major Saturn transit. Transiting Saturn is squaring her Tenth House Saturn during the entire competition, indicating how much effort she's putting into each performance, and how this contest will likely bring her out of retirement. Next year, her progressed Sun will be conjunct her Leo Ascendant (and square beneficial Jupiter), an additional indicator that a new career is just beginning.
And more than having the same aspect, they all have their Mars at 27º or 28º of an air sign, where together, they form a Grand Trine. This rather spectacular coincidence describes their common interest in ballroom dancing itself, since Mars-Neptune aspects, like Mars in Pisces, are associated with choreographed dancing. see the judges' profiles
The Judges' Grand Trine

All three judges have very tight Mars-Neptune aspects. It's the common planetary signature in their three charts.
How to Win Dancing with the Stars

1. Have either Julianne Hough or Cheryl Burke as your professional dance partner. Both are two-time champions.

2. Have your Sun aspecting Mars so you'll have plenty of physical reserves to do the vigorous training and high-energy dance moves.

3. Have your Moon or a stellium of planets in Libra. This is required so that you know what your partner is doing and so you can work together.
4. Having your Sun and/or Moon in Taurus is a pattern unique to Dancing with the Stars. There's no rhyme or reason to this, but it helps. Perhaps it's the Taurus calm at the center of all this glitz and glamour that wins over the judges and voters.

5. Have some very tight planetary connections to the DWTS Moon at 13º Aries. Conjunctions are the best, and highlight your ability to shine, to flaunt your unique style.

6. Timing is everything: every winner was experiencing a major Saturn transit. An activated Saturn reflects the hard work the taskmaster requires for ultimate success.

7. An ability to have fun, to ignore or let go of the pressures and have a good time.

The DWTS Judges

The three judges are important in determining the winner since their marks provide half of the total score. Saturn is the natural symbol for the judges, and one might also consider the Midheaven. Len Goodman (April 24, 1942; Dartford, UK; time unknown) is yet another Taurus, with his Sun-Mercury conjunction straddling the DWTS Descendant. His Moon, Chiron, and Pluto are all
in Leo, near the DWTS Midheaven, so by these placements, Len controls much of the flow, especially in his role as the head judge. He and Bruno Tonioli (November 25, 1955; Ferrara, Italy; time unknown) are also the judges in the original "Strictly Come Dancing", which is still a big hit in the U.K. Bruno's dramatic, over-
the-top commentaries are expressions of his fiery nature, with his Sun in Sagittarius and his Moon in Aries. He does have a critical side, since his Mercury is conjunct Saturn, with both closely in tune (trine) the DWTS Saturn.
Carrie Ann Inaba (January 5, 1968; Honolulu, HI; time unknown), with her Sun and Mercury in authoritative Capricorn, is also suitable for playing the role of a stern judge. Her periodic outbursts of enthusiasm aren't as spontaneous as Bruno's, perhaps evidenced by her Saturn in Aries, which tries hard to be bold and expressive. Carrie Ann's Juno sits right on the DWTS Scorpio Ascendant, so that her best role is as
the feminine counterpoint to Bruno and Len. Juno here shows her graciousness, her ability to mediate or provide a civil center when Bruno and Len become outrageously demonstrative in their rancorous disagreements.

All three judges have very tight Mars-Neptune aspects. It's the common planetary signature in their three charts. And more than having the same aspect, they all have their Mars at 27º or 28º of an air sign, where it forms a very harmonious trine or conjunction with the DWTS Venus. This rather spectacular coincidence describes their common interest in ballroom dancing itself, since Mars-Neptune aspects, like Mars in Pisces, are associated with choreographed dancing. They each have a distinguished background in dancing, and each Mars placement is in an exact, favorable link to the DWTS Venus, the natural symbol for celebrities. (Len's Mars at 28º Gemini squares his Neptune at 27º Virgo, and is conjunct the DWTS Venus; Bruno's Mars at 27º Libra is conjunct his natal Neptune and trines the DWTS Venus, and Carrie Ann's Mars at 27º Aquarius squares her Neptune, and also trines the DWTS Venus).
The DWTS Horoscope

Is there a way to predict who will win the Dancing With the Stars competition? After a bit of research, I discovered that the show's premier on June 1, 2005 (5:00 pm; Los Angeles, CA) could be used as the birth moment for the U.S. version of Dancing with the Stars. The format had already been successfully tested in the U.K., and after the huge success in the U.S., the show sprouted dozens of imitations across the global village. But the most-watched, most anticipated version was the one that premiered during the summer of 2005.

A horoscope set for the DWTS's spectacular debut can be used to track the show's developments, and theoretically, could be used to see which celebrity would win the coveted mirror-ball trophy. After playing with this chart for a while, I also discovered that the show's essential character, and the hosts, judges, professional dancers, and invited celebrities all had strong ties to this DWTS horoscope. The show's instant popularity could be seen in the planetary aspects to the Sun, found at 11º Gemini.

Primarily, the Sun trines beneficial, enthusiastic Jupiter, located at 8º in the partnership sign of Libra. This established the show's quick-paced, story-telling format (Gemini) involving the pairing of a celebrity with a professional dancer (Jupiter in Libra). The Gemini influence can also be seen in the many dances that each celebrity must master, along with the pre- and post-dance commentaries from judges, the celebrities themselves, and the many news stories, blogs, and fan sites that arose along with the show's success. DWTS became something to talk about.
The DWTS Saturn is in the family-values sign of Cancer. Saturn here represents the show's infrastructure, including all the off-camera people who make everything fit together seamlessly – the make-up artists, the stage crew, the costume designers, the orchestra, and the directors and coordinators. Saturn is the most elevated planet in this horoscope, and is strengthened by its network of aspects. Saturn trine to Mars reflects the show's impeccable architecture, from the opening credits, to the dances, judging and scoring, and commentaries. Saturn-Mars also describes the rigorous discipline required of dancers to advance in the competition.

Saturn in Cancer might also be seen as describing the wide appeal of the show, from the youngest to oldest generations. Many households find Dancing with the Stars air-time is the only occasion when the younger and older family members can all sit together and enjoy something of mutual interest. Saturn's closest aspect in this horoscope is the square to Juno, the marriage asteroid, and once again we have a theme of challenges to committed relationships.

How many spouses could watch their beloved dance with a talented, energetic, sleek professional week after week without wincing? Saturn square Juno advises, "grin and bear it." But with the protective, open-minded attitude that goes along with the Gemini Sun trine Jupiter, most participants find the entire season to be filled with a shared sense of camaraderie, fun, and excitement – the kind that might be present in a large, extended family during a festive holiday. Too bad someone has to be eliminated each week (Saturn quincunx Pluto), but the show must go on.
The Sun closely squares Uranus at 10º Pisces, which goes a long way in explaining the great spontaneity of the live broadcast. It also explains the unexpected surprises that periodically grab the headlines. In combination, the Sun aspecting both Jupiter and Uranus is the signature of unbridled excitement, spectacular drama, and a roller-coaster ride of emotional entertainment. The Sun's favorable sextiles to the Aries Moon and Leo Midheaven only enhance the show's liveliness and exuberance.

With Scorpio Rising, DWTS is a sexy show. Although billed as family entertainment, the colorful costumes worn by the dancers are often risqué, revealing, and prone to malfunctioning. The dance moves themselves are more than suggestive of sexual intimacy, sometimes actually simulating a variety of sexual acts. The judges encourage raunchy  choreography, although elder judge Len Goodman has been known to wag a finger at the more outrageous moves. He once docked a point from professional dancer Edyta Sliwinska for a jaw-dropping leg lift, and warned her not to do that anymore.
The co-rulers of the horoscope are Mars and Pluto, which square each other, and describe the intense competition that underlies the show's premise. Mars is in Pisces, which in traditional astrology, is associated with dance, since Pisces rules the feet. In addition to squaring Pluto, Mars also squares Venus in Gemini, which creates a T-square involving the love planets. Any combination of Venus, Mars, and Pluto can lead to some dynamic relationship developments, often featuring romantic triangles. As it happens, DWTS has had more than it's share of intrigue in this department.

When celebrities arrive on the scene, they're paired up with a professional who they've never met before. For several hours every day, they work hard and in close contact to learn the various ballroom techniques, but the stimulating chemistry between dance partners can kindle an off-set romance, whether or not the individuals are already married or in a committed relationship. And if both partners are single, the process can quickly lead to a fling that goes beyond the show's defined parameters. Viewers are well aware of these intrigues, especially since they're so widely reported, and it only adds to the show's popularity.

Among the admitted affairs, we have the Season 3 alliance between Mario Lopez and Katrina Smirnoff, and Season 5's Sabrina Bryan and Mark Ballas. Season 3 also brought the rumored affair between Willa Ford and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, although that rumor ended when she announced her engagement to hockey player Mike Modano. Season 5 winner Helio Castroneves was engaged when he entered the competition, but only one hour after his last quick-step with professional dancer Julianne Hough – which concluded with a four-second kiss – his fiancee called of the engagement.
